Team Smooth Take a Commanding 5-1 Lead after First Round
Wang and Fung straight dominated EZ and Nick all round. After losing the first 3 holes, Team EZ/Nick were toast. Disappointing first EG match for Nick. Not only did Wang and Fung have good chemistry, they have theme music.

Robby and Erik versus Derrek and Tac ended up being the most competitive matches of the first round. After holding an advantage with approach shots on 18, Tac flew the green and had to take a lost ball penalty. After searching around for what seemed like 30 minutes, the penalty was the difference in the match with Robby and Erik taking the full point. Huge win that made it 5-1 instead of 4-2.

Alika and Rob just got destroyed by Jason and Dean. Lynbrook class of ’92 straight representing! Considering the final outcome, hard to believe it was ever a battle, but experience was gained and lessons learned, I guess :{.

Pham and Ryth finally gets Team Cool on the god damn scoreboard. Little did they know, that was going to be it in the first round. Not quite sure, but maybe a special brownie had something to do with the outcome. Needless to say, this started off a very productive weekend for Pham.
Pham/Ryth 7&6
Ryan and Victor (AKA Buzzsaw) was just too much for the team of Pat and Wimpy. The Buzzsaw’s putting seemed to be the difference in yet another match that didn’t see the last holes go to Team Smooth.
Ryan and Victor 4&2
In his last match known as Johnny Chan, Johnny and Byron just mopped up the team of Randy and Mike. Johnny’s distance and Byron’s all around good play proved too much for Randy and Mike to handle. Match was over quick style.

Recap of Day 1 (continued)
Deficit cut to 7-5 after strong second round by Team Cool
Pat and Ryth put it together and put it on the team of Jason and Fung. This was a battle and a huge win for Team Cool. Jason proves to be human, or maybe he could no longer carry Fung in the alternate shot. Either way, huge showing for Pat and Ryth with a much needed point for Team Cool.

With EZ and Alika both coming off of losses in the first round, going against a dream team of Wang and Robby was not looking so good. It actually turned out to be just what the doctor ordered. After playing the scramble portion all square, EZ and Alika took the first 5 holes of alternate shot. Chalk another one up for Team Cool!
EZ/Alika 5&4
In what was a battle to the very end, Johnny entered the round with the last name Chan, and exited the round with the nickname Sands. To recap, Mike and Rob were waiting to hit their 7
th shot from just off the green, and Johnny and Erik were about the hit 4 from the sand. After playing tennis from bunker to bunker to tall grass to penalty stroke to bunker, they switched it up and stayed in the bunker to concede the hole. Throw in a “Johnny frustration backwards fall like he got sniped in the stomach” into the sand, and Johnny Sands was born! He even has theme music

In what proved to be Randy and Wimpy’s only points of the weekend, they really showed up and beat the team of Dean and Byron. Some considered this an upset, Randy and Wimpy considered it business as usual.
Randy/Wimpy 3&2
One of the marquee pairings for Team Cool, Pham and Nick showed why the crew is called Elevated Greens and put up a dominating performance to close out Ryan and Yin early. Pham is clearly showing he is a force to be reckoned with, while Nick earns his first point of the weekend.

Another 18 hole battle for Derrek and Tac, that included one of the most improbably flop shots out of a creek off of rocks (Derrek) anyone has ever witnessed, concluded with another improbably bunker shot (Tae) that sealed the last point of Saturday for Team Smooth.

Team Smooth Dominates Singles and wins 15-9
Match #1 Alika vs Jason
Jason proves once again, he has no equal in the crew. Although Alika battled him to the end, Jason just made more putts and he overall play was just slightly better. Great match filled with quality shots.

Match #2 Derrek vs. Wang
While the score was surprising, the result wasn’t. Derrek showed on Saturday his has “skills to burn” and proved it on Sunday. While Wang is still one of EG’s top players, Derrek said “Na Foo”.
Derrek 5&4
Match #3 Pat vs. Robby
In a tale of 2 nines, Robby shot a 1 under in the front, but a back nine 60 while losing 7 consecutive holes to the eventual winner, Pat. Give Pat credit for hanging in the match in the front nine, but this sounds like Robby gave Pat a gift all wrapped up with a bow on top.
Pat 2&1
Match #4 EZ vs. Fung
Although Fung took an early 1up lead over EZ, this match really wasn’t one and had Fung considering retirement. Fung did hole out from off the green on 18 to minimize some damages. Overall, a under inspired Fung led to a mismatch from the start.
EZ 4&3
Match #5 Nick vs. Victor
Nick started his day like he started on Saturday, not good. Victor took control early and never let up. The Buzzsaw went to work on Sunday and his stock if off the charts. Going 3-0 and possessing a solid short game, the Buzzsaw is a player to beat going into the next event.

Recap of Day 2 (continued)
Match #6 Ryth vs. Randy Chang
Not knowing how Randy’s game was, and knowing Ryth was the dominator Saturday, this result might have been to most surprising. Randy must have beat Ryth both physically and mentally for a quality stick to let it go this bad. Randy proved he has game.
Randy Chang 5&4
Match #7 Matt vs. Tae
In one of the more anticipated matches, Phamage improved his record to 3-0. It proved to be a battle and an even matchup. Pham’s star is on the rise, how high can he go?
Matt 2&1
Match #8 Randy vs. Ryan
Hole #12 and a 6 putt holds heavy significance in this matchup. Again, another even battle that Team Smooth found a way to win. This has the smell of rematch.
Ryan 1up
Match #9 Tac vs. Byron
After a grueling 36 holes on Saturday, Tac might not have had enough in the tank to truly give Byron much of a fight. Byron had a slightly lower handicap, and proved it on Sunday with a convincing win over Tac.
Byron 5&4
Match #10 Mike vs. Johnny
This was truly one of the most enjoyable matches of the entire weekend. The match went back and forth and was tight all the way to the end. In a match that featured a phantom fist pump, Johnny closes out 18 with par, and preserves his perfect record.
Sands 1up
Match #11 Wimpy vs. Dean
Based on handicap, this really shouldn’t have been a match, and it wasn’t. Although Wimpy has a victory over Dean in the past, Dean proved to be the better player and put the smack down on Wimpy.
Dean 3&2
Match #12 Rob vs. Erik
In another matchup that was doomed from the start, Rob gave it his best effort, but it wasn’t nearly enough as Erik took control early and never let go. Rob has the attitude to really improve and perhaps return the favor sooner than later.
